Syngman Rhee, Anti-Japanese Education, and Historical Narratives About the Korean Peninsula

It is no exaggeration to say that they are the same as the Hitler Youth.

The following continues the previous chapter.
In other words, this concerns those who say that Japan colonized the Korean Peninsula.
Syngman Rhee, the worst dictator of all time, wrote lies into the constitution to conceal the dubious origins of his administration and maintain his power.
South Koreans grew up under the Nazism he initiated in the name of anti-Japanese education.
South Koreans are Syngman Rhee’s children.
It is no exaggeration to say that they are the same as the Hitler Youth.
This is clear when one looks at the boys and girls now appearing at the forefront of the agitation to erect comfort women statues and conscripted worker statues outside Japanese embassies and consulates in South Korea.
Those whose anti-Japanese ideology rests on the constitution given by GHQ, a self-denigrating view of history, and the reasoning planted by GHQ that the Japanese people and the Japanese military were evil.
They are the betrayers of their country and traitors known as so-called scholars, so-called left-wing lawyers, and so-called cultural figures.
It is clear that Kenzaburo Oe and Haruki Murakami are their leading representatives.
Kings and yangban ruled over the Korean Peninsula, and all other citizens belonged to discriminated-against classes.
Even scholars did.
Women were the private property of the yangban—in other words, slaves.
That was why women had no names.
The yangban treated women as objects, so to speak.
Even if a wife became jealous, tortured such a woman to death through humiliations such as inserting a stick into her genitals, and threw her into the Han River, the yangban would not be held to account.
Whenever the river rose, bodies would become caught on branches along its banks.
That was everyday life on the Korean Peninsula until Japan annexed it.
In other words, the Korean Peninsula was a country where most people were slaves.
How, by contrast, was Japan?
Passage omitted
It is no exaggeration to say that Japan had been a truly democratic country since ancient times, to a degree that people in other countries could not comprehend.
The Japanese were a rare people who had no inclination to treat others as slaves.
A lawyer who graduated from Rikkyo University and held a position in the Japan Federation of Bar Associations repeatedly went to the United Nations…
The Asahi Shimbun took up Seiji Yoshida’s lies and spread them throughout the world…
Lawyers such as Mizuho Fukushima seized upon them as ideal material for attacking the Japanese government and [meaning unclear in the English text] from the Japanese government.
North Korean operatives also jumped on the bandwagon, concerning the prostitutes they had gathered for that purpose.
At the United Nations, the lawyer said, “They were not comfort women, but sex slaves…”
In an interview in the Sekai Nippo, the lawyer boasted of having established the term “sex slaves.”
Until Japan annexed it, the Korean Peninsula was a country with one of the world’s worst systems of status discrimination.
Is he not someone who carries that DNA?
A true Japanese person could not conceive of something like sexual slavery.
Even today, such practices of enslaving others remain in South Korea…
Among commentators, Katsumi Murotani is one of those who know South Korea’s actual circumstances best.
The publication is the monthly magazine Hanada.
The reality is revealed in this month’s installment of his regular column, “The Shape of the Neighboring Country.”
His essay, too, is essential reading not only for Japanese citizens but also for people throughout the world.
The anti-Japanese propaganda that the country continues to spread around the world consists of bottomless malice and plausible lies.
If the well-meaning people who call themselves intellectuals, and others who have taken it seriously, learn that it is being carried out by truly evil people, they will recognize their own foolishness so deeply that they will wish the ground would swallow them up before they go to hell.
I will introduce it in the following chapters.
