日本平と三保の松原を撮影した。
日本平には、空がある。
三保の松原には、海がある。
そして、その二つの場所には、富士がある。
この日の写真は、単なる風景写真ではない。
日本の空、日本の海、日本の松、そして富士という、日本人が古来より心の奥に抱いてきた景観を撮影した写真集である。
音楽には、カラヤン指揮ベルリン・フィルによるレスピーギ《リュートのための古風な舞曲とアリア》全曲を使用した。
レスピーギの音楽は、古い時代の旋律を、近代オーケストラの光と色彩の中に甦らせた音楽である。
カラヤンとベルリン・フィルの演奏は、その古風な気品と、オーケストラの壮麗な響きを、見事に一つにしている。
私は、この音楽には、日本平と三保の松原が最もふさわしいと思った。
ヨーロッパの古典美を、現代最高峰のオーケストラが甦らせた音楽。
日本の古典美を、空と海と富士の中に宿す風景。
その二つが、驚くほど自然に重なった。
日本平から見た空。
三保の松原に吹く風。
富士を望む海。
それらは、レスピーギの音楽が持つ、透明な郷愁、明るい哀愁、そして高貴な舞曲性と深く響き合っている。
本作品は、2025年6月5日の日本平と三保の松原の記憶を、レスピーギとカラヤン：ベルリンフィルの至芸に捧げる写真集である。

Nihondaira and Miho no Matsubara | Respighi: Ancient Airs and Dances | Karajan & Berlin Philharmonic

I photographed Nihondaira and Miho no Matsubara.
Nihondaira has the sky.
Miho no Matsubara has the sea.
And in both places, there is Mount Fuji.
The photographs from that day are not merely landscape photographs.
They form a photo collection of the sky of Japan, the sea of Japan, the pines of Japan, and Mount Fuji—the landscape that the Japanese people have carried deep within their hearts since ancient times.
For the music, I used the complete performance of Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances by the Berlin Philharmonic conducted by Herbert von Karajan.
Respighi’s music revives melodies from an earlier age within the light and color of the modern orchestra.
Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic bring together, with extraordinary mastery, its ancient elegance and the magnificent resonance of the orchestra.
I felt that no scenery was more fitting for this music than Nihondaira and Miho no Matsubara.
Music in which European classical beauty is revived by one of the finest orchestras of the modern age.
Scenery in which Japanese classical beauty dwells in the sky, the sea, and Mount Fuji.
These two came together with astonishing naturalness.
The sky seen from Nihondaira.
The wind blowing through Miho no Matsubara.
The sea from which Mount Fuji can be seen.
All of them resonate deeply with Respighi’s transparent nostalgia, bright melancholy, and noble dance-like character.
This work is a photo collection dedicating the memory of Nihondaira and Miho no Matsubara on June 5, 2025, to the consummate artistry of Respighi and Karajan with the Berlin Philharmonic.
